Hi there!
I can't wait to share this amazing fall wedding I got to capture up in the Colorado mountains! It was one of those experiences that felt straight out of a dream—full of adventure, laughter, and some seriously breathtaking scenery.
We kicked things off at the base of Copper Mountain in Leadville, Colorado, where everyone gathered, lacing up hiking shoes and strapping on headlamps. The plan? A one-mile hike up through golden, sunlit trees to reach the Tennessee Pass Cookhouse, our wedding spot. The air was crisp, the sun filtered perfectly through the trees, and the whole hike was filled with laughter and excited chatter. You could just feel the energy building as we climbed higher, getting closer to this secret little spot in the mountains.
And then we made it—this stunning valley surrounded by snow-capped peaks, with a cozy little yurt tucked away like something out of a storybook. It felt like our own private paradise. Everyone grabbed drinks and soaked in the moment, standing on the patio, just taking in the insane beauty all around us.
As the sun dipped down, we headed inside for dinner, and wow—this was not just any meal. Local chefs prepared the most incredible feast, and we all gathered around, laughing, telling stories, and toasting to Melissa and Sean. Friends and family shared sweet (and hilarious) memories, and the whole space glowed with candlelight, warmth, and love.
Then came the most special part—Melissa and Sean’s Scottish handfasting ceremony. Right there, in front of their closest people, they tied their hands together, symbolizing their commitment to each other. It was such an emotional, heartfelt moment, and when they toasted afterward, you could just feel how much love was in that space.
After that, we stepped back outside, and—wow—the stars. With zero city lights around, the Milky Way stretched across the sky, giving us the most perfect ending to an already magical night. Everyone just stood there for a while, taking it in, sipping drinks, and enjoying the moment. Eventually, it was time to head back down, so we put our headlamps on and hiked back under the stars, feeling full of love, good food, and unforgettable memories.
This wedding was something special—so intimate, so full of adventure, and so perfectly them. I feel so lucky to have been part of it, and honestly, I don’t think any of us will ever forget it!
